Join our team as a Team Lead for Data Scientists to deliver AI solutions that create measurable business value. You own the lifecycle from discovery with stakeholders to scaled delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement while developing people and strengthening our standards for quality, safety, and impact.

What you will do:

• Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders and frame business issues, value hypotheses and success metrics; translate initial requirements into scalable MLOps solutions with clear roadmaps.
• Drive MLOps projects from PoC to production by planning resources and timelines, defining scalable ML/AI architectures, and validating data and platform readiness with technical and business experts.
• Provide project oversight by leading cross‑functional expert teams (e.g., Data Science, AI Engineering, Information Security) and by working closely with Consulting on large‑scale projects. Remove roadblocks, set success criteria, ensure adoption of standardized pipelines, monitor solution health (performance, reliability, cost efficiency), and guide teams toward operational excellence.
• Promote Responsible AI and platform governance by ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and risk standards. Oversee documentation of evaluations, guardrails (e.g. LLM safety patterns), CI/CD workflows, MLOps policies, and architecture decision records.
• Contribute to internal frameworks and accelerators, building reusable components, templates, and best practices (e.g., standardized deployment pipelines, monitoring stacks, IaC patterns) to scale MLOps maturity across the organization.
• Evolve the MLOps service offering and operating model by shaping strategic roadmaps, enhancing platform capabilities, and aligning with stakeholders across business, data, and technology to drive enterprise‑wide ML adoption.
• Lead and develop a team of 5–;7 MLOps engineers. Foster a strong team identity, guide career growth, provide coaching and continuous feedback, and perform fair and structured performance assessments.
• Support the future growth of the organization by interviewing new candidates or by representing DHL Data & AI at events and conferences.

What you bring:

• You have 10+ years of experience delivering end-to-end ML/AI or MLOps engineering projects, and 4+ years leading larger expert teams working on complex solutions.
• You communicate complex technical choices clearly and simply, enabling alignment across technical and non‑technical audiences.
• You are highly driven, take ownership naturally, and are motivated by shaping the direction and culture of a fast-growing organization.
• You lead with a people-centric style, define yourself not just as a manager, but also as a coach to your team, build trust quickly, and combine empathy with a pragmatic, outcome-oriented mindset.
• You have a strong track record of industrializing ML/AI products, moving PoCs into stable, scalable, monitored production environments, and generating measurable business impact.
• You excel at translating business needs into robust MLOps architectures, making clear, pragmatic decisions on tooling, infrastructure, automation, and operationalization.
• You have a talent in building sustainable relationships and trust with stakeholders, bring clarity to ambiguous situations, and consistently turn initial idea discussions into successful projects.
• You bring deep technical oversight, with fluency in Python, and hands-on experience building and operating ML pipelines, model services, CI/CD workflows, monitoring/observability stacks, Kubernetes and infrastructure automation in cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• You have strong knowledge of LLMOps including agent orchestration, prompt/versioning, tracing, and evaluation frameworks, and can guide teams in adopting them responsibly and effectively.
