Online Project Manager

The position is to be filled as soon as possible on a part-time basis (75%) with an unlimited contract. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.

Are you an online generalist with experience in project management? As Online Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of technical projects in Welthungerhilfe's online team. You will work in close coordination with colleagues and external service providers on the structural, content-related and technical optimization of the German and international websites.

Your responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development and optimization of Welthungerhilfe’s web presence, focusing on content quality, user-centricity, and fundraising objectives.
• Coordinate content planning and creation with a strong focus on visibility, relevance, and performance across search engines and AI-driven systems.
• Develop and implement audience-focused content that meets high journalistic standards and supports fundraising efforts.
• Ensure fast and targeted online communication in the event of emergencies and humanitarian crises.
• Further develop the international website and actively foster interdisciplinary and international collaboration.
• Analyze and optimize content based on data and KPIs, deriving actionable insights and improvements.
• Manage editorial processes, external service providers, and cross-functional coordination with internal departments within an interdisciplinary newsroom setup.
• Proactively identify and implement measures to advance content strategy, user experience, and the use of AI in digital communications.
• Manage projects related to campaigns, technical developments, and specific content formats.

Your profile

• You hold a degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a comparable qualification, and bring several years of experience in online communications, editorial work, or content marketing.
• You create target group–oriented content of high editorial quality and are able to present complex topics in a clear and culturally sensitive manner.
• You develop content with a focus on fundraising and conversion goals, while consistently applying SEO and GEO best practices.
• You are proficient in using content management systems (particularly TYPO3) and web analytics tools (e.g. Econda), and manage content based on relevant KPIs and data insights.
• You think consistently in a user-centered way, understand user journeys, and develop content aligned with specific audience needs.
• You actively engage with the use of AI in online communications and apply it effectively within your workflows.
• You recognize the growing importance of data in your field and are motivated to further strengthen your awareness and skills in data-driven approaches.
• You work in a structured and reliable manner, even under time pressure, and remain flexible in dynamic situations (e.g. emergency response), including outside regular working hours if required.
• You communicate clearly, enjoy working in a team, and confidently manage collaboration with various stakeholders.
• You have very good written and spoken German and English skills.
