The API Center of Excellence (API CoE) is DHL Group’s powerhouse for digital connectivity. Your role

As Senior IT Product Owner for API Platforms , you will own one of DHL Group’s mission-critical applications , shaping one of the largest API management platforms in logistics and driving its evolution with a global team of top engineers. This hands-on, technology-driven role combines product ownership, architecture understanding, and stakeholder leadership to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing API capabilities across DHL Group.

Your tasks as Senior IT Product Owner – API Platforms

• In the role of a Scrum IT Product Owner for API Platforms, translating strategy, stakeholder needs, and technical requirements into a clear, prioritized product backlog.
• Own one of DHL Group’s mission-critical applications, ensuring reliability, availability, performance, and continuous evolution of the API Platform landscape.
• Own and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the API Management Platform, balancing business value, technical excellence, security, operational resilience, and long-term sustainability.
• Drive DevSecOps practices, CI/CD strategy, release governance, and platform lifecycle management in close collaboration with engineering teams.
• Steer the delivery of secure, scalable, resilient and high-performing API platform capabilities used across DHL Group.
• Lead API governance, security, compliance and data-protection standards for business-critical APIs and platform services.
• Act as a trusted technical sparring partner for architects, developers, security experts, and platform engineers enabling sound technical and product decisions.
• Drive cross-BU senior stakeholder alignment , ensuring transparent prioritization, clear communication, and joint decision-making across complex organizational and system landscapes.
• Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with business units, vendors, engineering teams, and strategic partners.
• Prepare and facilitate roadmap reviews, steering committees, decision forums, and executive-level communications for senior leadership.
• Drive adoption of API Platform capabilities by creating content and fostering knowledge sharing within DHL's internal API Community.
• Prepare Senior Stakeholder presentations (e.g. IT Board and OPS Board), providing clear updates, roadmap insights, and decision proposals.

Your profile

• 10+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager, Business Analyst, Product Owner, or in a similar role, preferably within agile delivery environments, including 6+ years as a Product Owner in an API-driven, platform, or integration-focused environment .
• Strong technical affinity with API management , cloud-native architectures, and integration concepts. Experience with Apigee, Kong, Azure API Management, MuleSoft, or similar is desirable .
• Own the resilience strategy of DHL Group's API Platform landscape, including high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational readiness.
• Experience working with mission-critical platforms or shared technology services, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of API governance, API security, enterprise architecture principles, platform operating models, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices .
• Excellent collaboration skills with developers, architects, platform engineers, security experts, and senior stakeholders across business units.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements, priorities, roadmaps, and actionable decisions.
• Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes , build alignment, and drive decisions across teams, technology domains, and organizational boundaries.
• Hands-on mindset and confidence to contribute to architecture, design, platform strategy, and technical refinement discussions.
• Fluent in English, German is an advantage
