Intern (m/f/d) Artificial Intelligence (AI) for enhancing social protection systems / AI Hub for Social Protection of the DCI (Digital Convergence Initiative)

Job description

The GIZ project “AI Hub for Social Protection of the DCI” aims to support countries in responsibly adopting AI technologies for enhanced inclusive, efficient and effective social protection systems, while focusing on mitigating associated risks. The AI hub works within four action areas and pursues its mission through (i) creating and sharing knowledge products with and through a sector-wide global expert network, (ii) advising social protection institutions in designing, implementing and governing responsible AI systems and strategies, (iii) developing AI DPGs in SP (Digital Public Goods) as well as standards and guidelines, (iv) conducting capacity building around AI and data literacy for the SP context through the creation of learning materials and online trainings targeting social protection practitioners.

Your tasks

As part of your internship, you will have the following tasks, among others:

• Support establishing the new initiative “AI Hub for social protection of the DCI” as part of the Project Management Team (PMO) across various fields such as shaping the service portfolio, setting up processes, facilitating the communication with implementing partners, and communication activities
• Support establishing communications platforms and tools for the AI hub (website, social media, newsletter, etc)
• Develop communications products such as impact stories, videos, flyers, PPTs, etc.
• Support the development of the AI Hub communications strategy
• Support the creation of knowledge products on AI in social protection
• Support the partner cooperation and communication as well as the facilitation of virtual meetings and workshops
• General administrative/ organisational support as required

Your profile

• Current student in data science, digital technology/management, digital media/communications, international development, social sciences, or another related field
• Familiarity with the digital transformation of social protection systems, a focus on AI and data-driven technologies is a plus
• Strong interest in how to harness AI responsibly for enhancing welfare services
• Strong organisational skills
• High quality written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent MS-Office skills
• Excellent English skills are required. German, French, or Spanish is an advantage
